About the writer.

David Kimple is a writer originally from Merritt Island, Florida (“Where dreams are launched!”). His full-length plays include MMF, Who is Theo?, Fabulous King, Swamp Squatch, and Sink, Florida, Sink. Select short plays include Carpe Fuckin' Diem, Carpeteria, Life.

 

His pieces Register, Sherpa Cop, and Escape Room have been presented as part of both the ABC Network Talent Showcases in New York and Los Angeles. He has worked as a scriptwriter and script doctor for the showcase twice. 

David's stage work has been developed/performed with ABC Discovers, Bristol Valley Theater, The Public Theater of San Antonio, SpeakEasy Stage Company, University of Massachusetts-Lowell, The Araca Group (Araca Project), Story People Theatre Co., New York Madness, Goldfish Memory Productions, NY International Fringe, Silver Meteor Gallery, Quince Productions (GayFest), ArtEffects Theatre Co., The Rule of 7x7, and more.

David's writing extends beyond scripts, and the best examples of that can be found in his weekly newsletter "Gangletown" at gangletown.substack.com.  


In addition to writing, David works in title-based rights management. He is currently the Senior Program Manager at 1091 Pictures. Previous work includes DK Books (Penguin Random House), Samuel French, Inc. (now Concord Theatricals), as well as Classic Stage Company, Primary Stages, and more.

With no explanation of how he got in, she and her roommates try to figure out where he came from and how to get him out. Theo’s undeniable charm and habit for disappearing don't make it easy, however, and when the police show up things only get more complicated. 'Who is Theo?' is a mile-a-minute modern farce and mini-mystery all in one."
